CONFEDERATION EXTENDED NATIONAL EXECUTIVE MEETING DECIDED TO  ORGANISE TWO DAYS STRIKE ON 12 TH & 13 TH FEBRUARY 2014

GDS Circle Welfare Fund -

The guidelines for grant of Financial Assistance & Grant of Loan under Circle Welfare Fund for GDS has been issued by the Directorate vide lr. No.19-31/2012-WL/Sport dated 02-12-2013.
 : (Important points ) :
= All the regularly appointed GDS as on record will become the members  under this scheme.
= The GDS will have to fill in an application in prescribed format (Form-I) for joining in the CWFGDS and to submit the same in the Divisional office.
= Leave substitutes & provisionally appointed GDS in leave arrangement are not eligible for the benefits of the Fund.
= @ Rs.20- per month, a lumpsum of Rs.240- will be deducted in the monthly salary of every April.
= From Govt. side @ Rs.100- per year for one GDS will be added to the Fund.
= Applications should be sent through the Divisional Office.
= A Regional level / Circle level committee will decide the sanction of grant / loan
= Every quarterly months all the applications will be persuaded for sanction but not for death relief sanctions.
= Terms & conditions will be applied for sanction of grant / loan.
= Recovery of Rs.120- has been made in the salary of October 2013 for six months (i.e, from October 2013 to March 2014)
= Funds are also has been allotted to the Circles vide Lr. No.19-31/2012-WL/Sport dated 14-10-2013.

= CWFGDS has three components for sanction of grant to GDS:

(i) Financial Grant :

Financial Assistance for nutritional diet to GDS suffering from TB (only once for a maximum period of six months, provided the GDS has put in at least six years of service & treatment is taken in Govt. hospital

(ii) Repayable Loan at 5% rate of Interest :

For construction of one room with flush toilet facilities for housing the Branch Post Office

For purchase of Computer / Laptop to encourage computer literacy amongst GDS

For purchase of moped / scooter / motor cycle which will also facilitate travel while discharging duty like exchange of BO Bag, visit to Account office etc.,

for (i) item : two regular department officials are necessary for surety
for (ii) & (iii) items two regular GDS officials are necessary for surety.
Applicant should have atleast 5 years of regular service and left with 8 years of service.
For (i) item : recovery will be made in 56 equal installments @Rs.1000- per month
For (ii) & (iii) items : recovery will be made in 21 equal installments @ Rs.1000- per month.

(iii) One time repayment at the time of retirement:

Service Discharge Benefit Scheme - option to join & allowing personal contribution

The Service Discharge Benefit Scheme for GDS has been came in to effect from 1st April 2011.
w.r.t  Lr.F.No.6-11/2009-PE-II (Part) dated 31st October 2013 -----
Those who are not enrolled their names in the Scheme, one more option has been given to them (pre entrants of Jan 2011) to enroll their name before 31st January 2014.

The GDS having less than 3 years period of engagement as on 01-01-2014 shall not be eligible to exercise this option.

Contribution of Rs.200- per month from GDS side is allowed from October 2013 for accumulation of the fund in the Scheme. Option has to be given by the GDS to the DDO for subscription / contribution towards the scheme.


Person not named in FIR can be tried if evidence crops up: SC


New Delhi, Jan 10 (PTI):  The Supreme Court today held a person can be made an accused by the trial court in case evidence crops up during the proceedings even if he has not been named in the FIR or charge sheet.

A five-judge Constitution Bench headed by Chief Justice P Sathasivam said that the trial court has powers to summon a person as an accused despite his name being not mentioned by the investigators in the FIR and charge sheet.

Launching of AP Online New Benefit Disbursement Portal



AP Online launched its new Benefit Disbursement Portal to monitor the Social Security Pensions and NREGS Wage Payments through Post Offices. In the Work Shop held at Conference Hall of Circle .Office, Hyderabad on 09-01-2014 PMG, (BD), PMsG and DPSs of Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam and Hyderabad Region are present on the occassion.

Subject :- 24th meeting of Standing Committee of Voluntary Agencies (SCOVA) scheduled to be held in the month of February, 2014 under the Chairmanship of Hon'ble MOS (PP).

The 24th meeting of Standing Committee of Voluntary Agencies (SCOVA) of the Department of Pension & Pensioners' Welfare is scheduled to be held in the month of February. The details of the date, time and venue of the meeting will follow. The meeting will be chaired by the Hontle Minister of State in the Ministry of Personnel, Pubic Grievances & Pensions.

2. All the Pensioners Associations under SCOVA are requested to kindly provide the following requisite information through fax as well as E-mail : -

(a) Suggest fresh items/issues, if any, for inclusion in the agenda to be discussed for the proposed meeting. Kindly do not send those agenda items which have already been discussed in the previous SCOVA meetings and on which final decision/action has already been taken. Your response in this regard may please be sent to this Department so as to reach the undersigned latest by 7th Jan, 2014 to enable us to finalize the agenda items. Minutes of the meetings and Action Taken Reports of the previous SCOVA meetings are available on the website of this Department - www. pensionersportal.gov. in

(b) Because of the consideration of space, only one representative of your organization may attend the above said meeting. Confirmation of participation and the name of the participant may kindly be intimated in advance to the undersigned by fax/e-mail.

3. Outstation members will be paid TA/DA and local members will be paid conveyance charges in accordance with the rules/instructions.
