RAJAHMUNDRY: The postal department earned `30 lakh by selling old records in the districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam and East Godavari. Furthermore, an amount of `12,639 crore has been disbursed towards wages under the NREGA scheme in the state and `1,050 crore towards various pension schemes, state chief post master general BV Sudhakar said.

We will discuss the same with the Andhra Pradesh government as well,” he said. “Under the ‘Nanyatha’ scheme, the department is tracking the status of delivery of letters and parcels using Global Position System. Under ‘Sunayasam’ scheme, the department is offering 23 varieties of services. The scheme was introduced in AP and Telangana recently. Plans are afoot to sell various seva tickets of Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam through ‘Sunayasam’ scheme,” he added.
Later, Sudhakar inaugurated a post office on the premises of Adikavi Nannaya University and participated in ‘Swachh Bharat’ programme.

DA Merger and Interim Relief to be discussed in the National Convention of NC JCM Meeting

Important issues of DA Merger and Interim Relief to be discussed in the National Convention of NC JCM Meeting which will be held on 11.12.2014 – INDWF Circular
INTUC
INDIAN NATIONAL DEFENCE WORKERS FEDERATION

INDWF/Circular/012/2014
Date : 17.11.2014
To
All Office Bearers and Working Committee Members,
INDWF
Sub: Holding of National Convention of the National Council (JCM) Staff Side – reg.
Ref: National Council (JCM) Staff Side circular No.NC.JCM/2014/SC Dated 25.10.2014

Dear Colleagues,
National Council (Staff Side) JCM for Central Government employees demanded and submitted a memorandum on Interim Relief and Merger of DA to the 7th CPC and also to the Ministry of Fiance. A reply has been received by the Secretary (Staff Side) National Council (JCM) from Ministry of Finance which is indicative of a refusal of both the demands. The 7th CPC have so far not communicated to us the decision they have taken on the memorandum submitted by the Staff Side, National Council (JCM).

The NDA Government has adopted the same plea made by the UPA II Government to reject our demands.

From the steps so far taken by the BJP Government, it is unambiguous that they would be pursuing the neo-liberal economic policies with much more intensity than even the UPA Government. Having got a clear majority in the Parliament, they would be able to push through necessary legislations to pursue reforms. The outsourcing of Railway functions, privatisation/Corporatisation of Defence manufacturing units, increased FDI inflow in various core sectors of economy, dismantling of the administrative price mechanism, de-nationalisation efforts in the Banking, Insurance and coal sectors and above all the adherence to New Contributory Pension Scheme are some of the bold anti-workers steps taken by the New Government.

The National Council (Staff Side) when they met during October, 2014 at New Delhi it was unanimous opinion to pursue the issues through organizational methods. Accordingly, it was decided to hold a NATIONAL CONVENTION, eliciting the participation of the representatives of all Service organisations participating in the JCM to discuss the emerging situation and decide upon future course of action. Incidentally, we must mention that the JCM conceived as a negotiating forum has been made in-effective by the Government over the years by not convening its meetings periodically.

It was decided that the National Council Convention will be held at

Venue : MPCU Shah Auditorium, Sree Gujarati Samaj, Raj Niwas Road, Civil lines (Opposite Civil lines Metro Station), Delhi
Date : 11th December, 2014 from 12 noon to 1600 hrs.

150 Delegates from Defence Federations (INDWF and AIDEF) are permitted to participate.

Around 75 Delegates from INDWF have to participate and therefore all the Office Bearers and Working Committee members are invited to participate in the convention. Those who are participating are required to intimate to the undersigned so that the Delegate Passes/Badges on their names will be arranged to participate in the convention.

Treat this as an important matter which will decide the issues of 7th CPC (merger of DA and IR) as well as present trend of the New Government on the future of Central Government Employees particulars about Defence Civilian Employees.

Yours Sincerely,
sd/-
(R.SRINIVASAN)

General Secretary

1) Hamilton takes second F1 title with win in Abu Dhabi: Lewis Hamilton clinched his second drivers' world championship and became the first Britishmultiple champion for 46 years when he won Sunday's season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The 29-year-old Englishman, who took his first title in 2008 with McLaren, won not only the 55-laps race, but also his private duel withMercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg, who suffered prolonged problems with his car after making a poor start from pole position.

2) INS Vikrant fades into history: Despite last ditch attempts by activists and former navy servicemen to save it, INS Vikrant — the county’s first aircraft carrier — has finally faded away into history. The BJP, whose leaders had promised to keep the vessel alive before elections, shifted the blame on to the previous Congress–NCP government and said had it acted sooner, Vikrant could have been saved. The dismantling of the majestic vessel began in Mumbai opposite the Darukhana ship breaking yard. The Bombay High Court had given the go-ahead for Vikrant to be auctioned in January, after it rejected a public interest litigation petition to save the vessel and convert it into a maritime museum. The Centre said it was difficult to maintain the vessel. In March, the Indian Navy sold Vikrant to a Mumbai-based ship breaking company for Rs. 63 crore.

3) Parrikar inaugurated Information Management and Analysis Centre at Gurgaon: Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar today inaugurated theInformation Management and Analysis Centre (IMAC), a joint operations facility of the Indian Navy and  the Coast Guard, set up near Gurgaon to provide coastal security and to avert incidents like the 26/11 terror attack on Mumbai.

4) Centre to launch 'Jal Gram' scheme in 2015: Union Water Resources Minister Uma Bharati on Saturday said that the Centre will launch the Jal Gram (Water Village) Scheme in 2015. "There will be one Gram (village) in every district, which will be taken as a pilot project and the village with poorest indicators of water availability will be chosen," Bharati told reporters on the concluding day of the three day Jal Manthan conference in New Delhi.

5) Arunachal Pradesh bagged Skill Development award: Arunachal Pradesh has bagged India's Best Project-2014 award for implementation of skill development and employment generation in the state for the benefit of youth, mostly less-educated and school drop-outs. The award, instituted by Gurgaon-based Skoch Group dealing with socio-economic issues, was given in a ceremony at the national capital last evening, Director of Department of Skill Development and Employment Generation Subu Tabin said.

6) Indians, Chavara and Euphrasia, conferred sainthood by Pope Francis: Father Kuriakose Elias Chavara and Sister Euphrasia from India were on Sunday conferred sainthood by Pope Francis in Vatican City at a special canonisation mass, in a moment of elation and spiritual fervour for the Christians in India. Reformist Catholic priest Chavara and reclusive nun Euphrasia from Kerala along with four other beatified Italians were declared Saints by the Pope during the mass at St Peter's Square at Vatican, attended by a large number of devotees, two Cardinals, bishops, clergy and nuns from the state.

7) West Bengal governor to hold additional charge of Bihar: West Bengal governor Keshari Nath Tripathi will hold the additional charge of Bihar, the President's secretariat on Sunday said. Bihar governor Dr DY Patil completes his tenure on November 26. "The President of India has been pleased to appoint Shri Keshari Nath Tripathi, governor of West Bengal, to discharge the functions of the governor of Bihar, in addition to his own duties," a communique from the Rashtrapati Bhavan said.

8) SAARC panel decided to dissolve 3 regional centres: The SAARC committee on 23 Nov 2014 decided to dissolve three regional centres, including one in India, and merge four others to end the duplication of work and reduce its budget. The 49th meeting of the programming committee comprises of joint secretaries of the SAARC countries. The centres that would be dissolved include the Information Centre in Kathmandu, Human Resource Development Centre in Islamabad and the New Delhi-based Documentation Centre, according to officials at the Foreign Ministry. The move aims to end the duplication of work carried out by the regional centres and to economise the budget of the centres, the officials said.
