THINK DIFFERENT: (A Beautiful Story)

A blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet. He held up a sign which said: "I am blind, please help." There were only a few coins in the hat.

A man was walking by. He took a few coins from his pocket and dropped them into the hat. He then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words. He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by would see the new words.

Soon the hat began to fill up. A lot more people were giving money to the blind boy. That afternoon the man who had changed the sign came to see how things were. The boy recognized his footsteps and asked, "Were u the one who changed my sign this morning? What did u write?"

The man said, "I only wrote the truth. I said what u said but in a different way."
What he had written was: "Today is a beautiful day & I cannot see it."

Do u think the first sign & the second sign were saying the same thing? Of course both signs told people the boy was blind. But the first sign simply said the boy was blind. The second sign told people they were so lucky that they were not blind. Should we be surprised that the second sign was more effective?

Moral of the Story :

Be thankful for what you have.
Be creative.
Be innovative.
Think different and positive.

India Post new logo ( launched on 23 Sep 2008 )

It is in the shape of an envelope with the image of birds’ wings

Launch: M.P. Rajan, Chief Postmaster General, releasing the new logo of India Post in Bangalore on Tuesday. - Photo: K. Gopinathan

Bangalore: Modern, vibrant and dynamic with flowing bold strokes in bright yellow on a red background. That is the new logo of India Post, which was launched by the Chief Postmaster General of Karnataka Circle here on Tuesday.

The new logo has a rectangle in the shape of an envelope in deep red with the image of birds’ wings in bright yellow. It sends the message of India Post as a dynamic organisation with modern and professional approach in its service to the common man, business and corporate clients.

It has “Bharatiya Dak” in Hindi and “India Post” on the top left and bottom right corners.

The idea

Speaking at the launch, Chief Postmaster General of Karnataka Circle M.P. Rajan said the philosophy and guiding principle behind the new logo was that India Post acted as a bridge across physical distance and was committed to deploying efficient means to reduce the time betweensending and receiving mails. “The refurbishment aims at an element of modernity combined with continuity. The wings are the anchoring element that has been retained.

The choice of colours — red and yellow — also have some significance.

Red was chosen for its traditional association with the postal service, which also symbolises passion, power and commitment; while yellow which stands for hope, joy and happiness.
