MOBILE MONEY TRANSFER WORKING PROCEDURE

Procedure For Handling MMTS Device

Switch on the mobile, by pressing the power on key. On the left side you will see the “BSNLDOP” shortcut. This is the main application and in general you will only be using this.

Mobile Money Remittance screen will open and ask for 4 digit PIN number/Login ID, which is the same number that was told to you during the training and is available in the SMS Inbox of your phone.

After putting PIN, wait for 3 to 4 min. and do not press any other button. Menu Screen will open and you can start the Transactions. If failure message comes, try again or contact customer care.

After Login, Mobile Screen will display Menu

a. Cash In :(for booking money order)

b. Cash Out :(for giving the payment to Recipient)

c. Recall : ( Cancellation of Money order)

d. Cash in Reversal: (Automatic reversal after the time elapsed (14 days)

Cash In:

Click on “Cash In” button for money transfer/book money order. 6(six) parameters will open and will ask for the following;

Remitter Mobile: No.(10 Digit Mobile No. of sender)

Remitter Name: (Name of the Money Sender)

Recipient Mobile No.:(10 Digit)

Recipient Name :( Name of the Payee)

Recipient PO PIN Code: (PIN Code of a covered PO, near to the address of the recipient)

Amount :( Total Amount for Money Order with Commission)

After filling the details, click on OK.

It will show you a screen with all the entries. Verify the entries and if any problem, press Cancel otherwise OK.

If there is any problem with your entries, it will give you an error message. Check the entries and reconfirm.

Never resubmit the entries if you have already sent and there has been no response. In case of any doubt, call Customer Care.

Cash Out

To give money out to the recipient (withdrawal) Click on ‘cash out’ and attached menu will open.

Transaction ID (This is the ID available on the SMS of the recipient)

Secret Code (This is the 6 digit code that recipient tells you verbally).It will show you a screen with all the entries. Reverify the entries and if any problem, press Cancel otherwise OK.

Again press OK and only when you get “Transaction Verification give the money to the recipient”. If no message comes, or any other message comes, check the message and accordingly call the Customer Care if required.

Recall

If sender wants to recall his money (cancel the Money Order) after sending it, then click on Recall button and fill the entries as shown on the screen.

This can only be done from the PO, where the Money Order was originally booked.

Cash In Reversal

If the money is not taken out by the recipient or sender within 14 days, it will get reversed to the sender and he will get a new transaction ID called “ Reversal Transaction ID”.

To pay the sender, Open “ Cash In Reversal” and fill the details.

This can only be done from the Original Booking PO.

Once you fill the details, press OK

Re-verify the details and if it is correct, press “OK” or otherwise press “Cancel”.

Only when you get the “Transaction Verified” message, pay to the sender, otherwise in case of any other message, either take the corrective action or contact the customer care.

Locate Post Office

This application is located either at the right hand side of the handset as the shortcut or you have to go to Home Screen>OK Button>Java(3rd icon on the middle line)-Locate PO. Just press OK to open the application.

This is useful when you do not know the PIN code of the post office where the sender wants to send the Money.

Also not all the Post Offices are covered by this Service initially. Hence also to find out if the service is available in a Post Office or not, you can use this application.

This gets automatically updated as new post offices are added.

Latest information is also available at the website www.dopmobile.in

To use this application, press the button. It will open the menu where you put the initial letters of the name of the Post Office that you want to search.

Once the name matches, you can click on this and it will show you the details of that Post Office including the address and PIN code.

You have Four Options. Quick search will search by PO, City search by covered city and so on.

To help you with your daily requirements, you can get following information from the query menu:-

Daily Cash In Transaction (This will give you the total number and amount of Cash In Transactions)

Daily Cash Out Transaction (This will give you the total number and amount of Cash Out Transactions)

Daily Balance in Hand (This will give you the balance in hand after all the “Cash In” and “Cash Out”) transactions

Particular Transaction Details (This gives you the status of a particular transaction, after putting the Transaction ID)

Resend Notification

If for some reason the recipient or sender does not get the notification SMS, Postal Assistant can resend the Notification. For this he/she needs to put the details as shown on the “Menu”. In case of multiple transactions, it will send the last transaction only.

A PRESS NEWS REGARDING GOLD SALES BY POSTAL DEPARTMENT

The Communist Party of India has sought Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s intervention in stalling sale of gold coins from post offices as “it is against the Finance Ministry’s directive to restrict the sale and import of gold.”

In a letter to Dr. Singh, party general secretary S. Sudhakar Reddy said “high gold imports and specifically the import of gold coins had surely led to a burden on our import bill.”

Referring to Union Finance Minister P. Chidambaram’s statement on ban on import of gold coins and medallions, Mr. Reddy said in his letter: “Despite the ban, I am surprised to see that while the Finance Minister holds a specific view on import of gold coins, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology holds a divergent view on the same.”

The Department of Posts had floated a tender for “supply of gold coins on sale,” which concludes on November 27, Mr. Reddy said.

Quoting Mr. Chidambaram as also saying that “banks were told to strictly follow guidelines on gold imports,” Mr. Reddy said the decision of the Communications and Information Technology Ministry (to sell gold coins) went against the decision of the Finance Ministry.

“If banks selling gold coins are strictly being discouraged, how could post offices selling gold coins be encouraged?” he sought to know.

Import of gold coins and floating of tenders by the Postal Department “implies encouraging the import of gold coins once again.”

‘Why no uniform view ?’

“With a heavy import bill burden already on the economy, why is the government not having a uniform view regarding the sale of gold coins” Mr. Reddy asked.

Pension from 01 January 2006 rather than 24 September 2012 : Supreme Court dismisses the Review Petition filed by Govt of India

As most would know, the Govt had challenged before the Supreme Court the decision of the Delhi High Court wherein the judgement by the Central Administrative Tribunal granting benefit of rectification of pensionary anomalies from 01 January 2006 rather than 24 September 2012 was questioned. The order in effect and essence affected all central govt pensioners, including defence pensioners.

The controversy had emanated from the fact whether the benefits of the correct pension were to flow from 01 Jan 2006 which is the date from which the 6^th Central Pay Commission recommendations were implemented or from 24 Sept 2012 when the Govt had decided to remove the anomalies in the pension structure after the said Pay Commission. Of course, it was held by Courts that the removal of the anomalies shall date back to the date of the inception of the said anomalies and not any later artificial date.

The Supreme Court was however pleased to dismiss the SLP filed by the Govt in July this year as was placed on this blog.

Incorrigible as it is, the Govt had gone ahead and filed a Review Petition in the matter urging the Supreme Court to review its order of dismissal of the SLP filed by the Central Govt.

The Supreme Court has yesterday dismissed the Review Petition filed by the Govt in the matter.

4	Is Computer Based Examination based on Internet?	No
5	What are the dates for Computer Based Examination?	The dates of examination are 9th, 11th, 12th and 19th April 2014.
6	When a candidate can select the date of computer based examination ?	At the time of filling the form for JEE(Main) itself.
7	What will be the time of computer based examination?	The exam will be twice a day i.e. in two shifts.  First shift from 09.30 - 12.30 Hours [IST] and  Second shift (if required) from 14.00 - 17.00 Hours [IST]
8	When will a candidate has to report at exam centre?	30 minutes before the exam time.
9	What computer knowledge is required to appear for Computer Based Examination?	The candidate need to know only how to use computer mouse. That is at the most required.
10	Can the date of exam once selected be changed, if required ?	No
11	What will be the medium of Computer Based Examination?	All Examination Centre Cities English and Hindi Medium Examination Centre Cities in Gujarat, Daman & Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli English, Hindi and Gujarati Examination Centre Cities in Maharashtra English, Hindi, Marathi and Urdu  Note : The Candidate can also switch medium as many times as he/she wants during the examination.
12	Can a candidate get anexamination center of his/her choice?	The Candidate can opt for city of his/her choice as per list of computer based exam cities at the time of filling application formonly.
13	How secure is the computer basedexamination?	It is very secure with zero error possibility as human intervention is minimal.
14	How a candidate can practice for Computer Based Examination?	The Mock Test is available on CBSE/JEE websites. The Candidate can download the same and practice as many times as he/she wants. This will give look and feel of the format of Computer Based Exam in simulation environment.
15	What will happen in case there is some problem in computer during the examination?	There will be enough buffer computers available at the examinationcenters to take care of such problems and the time lost in change of system will be duly compensated as each and every second will be recorded by the server.
16	When will the result of Computer Based Examination be declared?	Combined result will be declared along with the Pen and Paper based examination candidates.
17	Will there be a question booklet like in offline examination?	In Computer Based Examination the questions will appear on computer screen along with the answer options. Instruction page will also be displayed before the actual test begins. The time of reading of instructions will not be part of examination duration.
18	Will a Candidate get the question paper of computer based examination as he/she gets in Pen and Paper based exam?	Yes, the question paper along with the options marked will be mailed to each and every candidate after the exam schedule is over.
19	In case of problem in computer etc will there be some body to assist ?	Yes, there will be qualified IT professionals.
20	How will a candidate answer a question in the Computer Basedexamination?	There will four options of each question. The candidate has to click one of the options using computer mouse which can be reviewed or re-answered any time during the duration of the examination
